About Peacedriven

The mission of the Peacedriven Campaign is to energize social activists as well as empower a new generation to act. Our major concerns are violence, human rights, poverty, education and environmental protection. Do you have the drive?
In the words of Nobel laureate Wangari Mathaai: “Those of us who understand the complexity of peace have the burden to act … we must not tire, we must not give up, we must persist.” These words are the essence of Peacedriven.
The Peacedriven Campaign’s main initiative is the annual Peacedriven Songwriting Award, recognizing songwriters that use music to inspire social change! Former winners include Daniel Nahmod, Holly Light and Jeff Sheppard. Other programs include the Red Posts Project and Voices on Violence children’s book. Additional projects are in development.
The Peacedriven Campaign*, led by director Anthony Stokes, is the winner of the Doublemint Grant from Venus and Serena Williams, Streetlaw’s National Youth Visionary Award, the YouthVenture Grant, and the UNC Robert E. Bryan Fellowship.
